The purpose of this report is to summarize all the possible improvements we could carry out in our workplace in order to save energy and use efficiently its resources. This is a preliminary report made by the teachers in charge of every area. The final report will be done when we have received the suggestions from the rest of the employees.
In the first place, it is necessary to start with some advice for saving energy. Some computers and screens are left on overnight and at weekends, a habit which wastes energy. We think that everyone should turn off their own equipment unless an important calculus has to be carried out. Using natural light and ventilation when possible is recommended, instead of turning on the lights or air conditioner.
Secondly, we must remember that papers have two sides, so many times they could be reused for drafts or taking notes. There are recycling bins for papers which cannot be reused. We need to use our resources efficiently, so be sure to contact with other colleagues if you are thinking of throwing away any appliance or material which are still useful.
Finally, remember that a few steps by every employee can greatly improve our workplace atmosphere. (Alberto NI 2)
